At Therapea Health, our psychology team provides compassionate, evidence-based care to support children, adolescents, and adults. We understand that life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but with the right strategies and support, individuals can build resilience, achieve positive change, and move toward a more fulfilling life.

Who We Help

Our psychologists work with people across the lifespan, offering tailored support for:

  • Children and adolescents experiencing developmental delays, behavioural issues, learning difficulties, anxiety, or bullying.

  • Adults managing stress, depression, trauma, grief, workplace conflict, or difficulties in relationships.

  • Families navigating challenges such as communication breakdowns, adjustment issues, or supporting a child with additional needs.

  • Individuals with cognitive or neurodevelopmental conditions, including memory loss, ADHD, and autism.

No matter where you are in your journey, our psychologists provide a safe, non-judgemental space to explore concerns and find strategies that work for you.

Benefits of Psychological Support

Working with a psychologist can have far-reaching benefits, not only for mental health but also for everyday functioning and overall quality of life. Clients often experience:

  • Greater resilience and ability to manage stress

  • Improved mood and outlook on life

  • Better coping strategies for anxiety and depression

  • Enhanced problem-solving and conflict management skills

  • Increased confidence and self-awareness

  • Support in overcoming past trauma and moving forward

For children and young people, early intervention can be life-changing, helping them develop emotional regulation, social skills, and learning strategies that set the foundation for a brighter future.

Our Approach

Our psychologists use evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs. These may include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Mindfulness-based interventions

  • Trauma-informed approaches

We also conduct a wide range of assessments, including intellectual and cognitive functioning assessments, autism and ADHD assessments (with short wait times), and school readiness assessments. These provide clarity, guide treatment planning, and help families access the support their child needs.

What to Expect

  • Initial ConsultationThe first session is an opportunity to discuss your concerns, history, and goals. Your psychologist will explain the therapy process and work with you to outline a personalised treatment plan.

  • Ongoing Sessions Sessions typically run for 60 minutes, comprising of 45-50 mins of direct support, followed by parental feedback (if applicable) and case notes. Sessions are generally held in-clinic at Werribee or via telehealth. For children, we also collaborate with families, carers, and schools to ensure consistent support and can occasionally offer community-based sessions, if the practitioner has availability in their schedule to provide. Please note: community based services will attract travel fees in addition to consultation fees.

  • Progress Reviews Treatment plans are reviewed regularly to ensure strategies are effective and aligned with client goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
You can book directly with us. If you’d like to access Medicare rebates, you’ll need a GP Mental Health Care Plan.

Are sessions confidential?
Yes. All information is treated as confidential and stored securely, unless there is a risk of harm or a legal obligation to disclose. Our therapists review our confidentiality agreements with you or your legal representative at your initial appointment.

How many sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your goals and clinical needs. Some people benefit from short-term therapy, while others with complex or long-standing issues may engage in ongoing support in the longer-term. We recommend weekly or fortnightly appointments to begin with, but your psychologist will discuss a plan that works best for you.

Do you offer assessments?
Yes. Our psychologists conduct autism, ADHD, cognitive, and school readiness assessments to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
